| Full Depth Reclamation (FDR) is a maintenance process by which the full flexible pavement section consisting of asphalt, base, sub-base and a pre-determined portion of the underlying soil subgrade are uniformly pulverized and blended with a specified type and amount of chemical re-agent such as Portland Cement, foamed asphalt, asphalt emulsions or Lime Kiln Dust resulting in a stabilized base course. This is a common and effective alternative to complete pavement replacement when the base has structurally failed or is in need of significant repair. Much like other services that Mt. Carmel Stabilization offers, FDR is a process that uses on site materials and reduces or eliminates the need for removing and replacing these materials resulting in a lower overall cost and less community disturbance. |
