Site contractor calls on Mt. Carmel to get this project back on stable ground Running a clean operation critical to project’s success
(Indianapolis, IN; February, 2009) In any given year, Mt. Carmel Stabilization Group will perform soil stabilization applications on hundreds of projects ranging from highway reconstruction, airport runways, subdivision roads, commercial building pads, drying operations on massgrading projects and many other miscellaneous project types. These projects can range in size from 1,500 to several million square yards. Each project presents a unique situation and subsequent challenges to success. This particular project is an addition to a senior living facility with residents and heavy traffic, in an urban area in North Indianapolis. The area that Mt. Carmel is treating is a relatively small buidling pad, roughly 4,700 square yards and it is considered to be an extremely dust sensitive site. The Problem - Wet, Weak Soil Holding Up Winter Construction A very common problem encountered during winter excavation projects in the midwest is the temperature and the weather constantly change, making site conditions difficult or impossible. On this project, Dotlich Site Development, Brownsburg, IN; knew that this was a job for Mt. Carmel Stabilization. They needed the area to be stable through the coming months of winter weather so they could dig foundations. Dotlich has worked with Mt. Carmel on a number of projects over the last fifteen years and when they encounter poor site conditions like this one, they routinely call on Mt. Carmel for the solution.
